Our Philosophy

Our Approach to Care

In general, we prefer to “anticipate and prevent” rather than just dealing with crisis.

Many medical problems are recognized before pregnancy but the implications for the woman and baby in pregnancy and a plan of care may not be so clear. Therefore we encourage practitioners to involve us sooner rather than later, and we welcome you contacting us by telephone to discuss how we may best assist (see Contact Us).

Women face many concerns and choices in pregnancy and the information can be confusing. We work in partnership with the woman and her partner/family, and the others who are assisting her with her pregnancy or medical problems.

We aim to provide high-quality information and assessment about a woman’s medical issues to empower her and her partner/family to be confident in their understanding of how they may impact a pregnancy.
